The best HVAC technicians in America will compete in the upcoming ServiceTitan HVAC National Championship finals, September 11-14 in West Palm Beach, FL. And it’s only “fitting” that the best techs in the HVAC industry will be using the industry’s best press fittings during the competition: RLS!

We’re proud to have once again been selected as the press fittings used in the SeviceTitan HVAC National Championship. The competition puts HVAC technicians and apprentices through a series of challenges, including making copper tube connections using RLS press fittings. The upcoming championship is the final of three rounds.

In Round #1, competitors participated in a five-minute online multiple-choice quiz, which tested their industry expertise, job execution, safety practices, and code knowledge. Next, the top 38 Professionals and top 38 Apprentices who answered the most questions correctly advanced to Round #2, which tested their skills and workmanship in completing a real-world job task using an at-home challenge kit, showcasing their knowledge and skill expertise.

Now it’s on to the third and final round, ‍where the top 10 Professionals and top 10 Apprentices will compete in the Championship Finals for their share of over $100,000 and the title of ServiceTitan HVAC National Champion. All 20 competitors received an all-expense paid trip to West Palm Beach.

When it comes to using RLS press fittings, competitors are required to go through all the necessary steps, just as they do when working in the field, including properly prepping the tube, marking the correct insertion depth, completing the press connection using an RLS-compatible tool and jaws, and checking the press with the RLS press gauge. All challenges are judged and scored by a team of experienced HVAC professionals.
